Known for its impressive results in international racing, Alcon has worked with WRC champion constructor Prodrive to devise a special braking system for the Japanese market. To deliver sure-footed performance on all road surfaces, the development team carried out tests in differing air temperatures in the UK and Greece to arrive at the right setting for Japan. And just to show how meticulously the team carried out their research, the brake pads employed were not those of Alcon, but rather Ferodo, which are more suited to Japanese conditions. The desired braking response for Japan was not outright stopping power but a more balanced brake feel. The brake pedal responds with a more linear feel that allows drivers to control speed and deceleration at will.
